how to find elecrtic field due to a hemispherical shell as a function of r(distance from the center of the shell) actually the question was that a uniformly charged thin spherical shell with q of radius R and surface charge density roh is cut into 2 halfs.find the force required to kee the 2 halfs in contact.

At angle theta consider a ring with with with d theta
Now for a ring we now the magnitude of electric field at centre at axial point.
So now consider the equation for electric field in differential form with proper values of charge and distance.
Integrate from 0 to π/2 and enjoy the answer:)

Hope it helps
Thankyou
