Dear Student,
If the resisitances are in series, then the equivalent resistance is equal to the sum of all resistances. And if the resistances are in parallel, then the reciprocal of equivailent resistance is equal to the sum of reciprocal of the individual.\
Thanks.

Equivalent resistance is one resistance which can replace all the resistances in the circuit and allow same amount of current in the circuit as in the original circuit.
To find equivalent resistance of a circuit add all resistance if they are connected in series and for resistances in parralel take sum of reciprocal of all resistances and then inverse the sum.
For complex resistance network “kirchoff`s law of current and voltage” is used.
