Advantage of capacitor :
Capacitor blocks the high frequency signal passing through it.
The time response of capacitor electric circuit an be giverned by moderatinf the tie constant that is t = R*C.
Capcitor is used for mainly storing charge which can be used in oscillatory circuit that is for L-C circuit for ascillation motion.
 
For Inductors:
Although it cannot block high frquency signals it has the power to store energy and reverts back according to the need.
Inductir is used as a filter to normalize and to advance the filtration and to reduce the noises for the transient respons circuit.
