when bulbs are connected in series then resultant resistance is more than that of each bulb and hence same current will flow in both bulbs so both will glow at similar brightness, but when both are connected in parallel then resultant resistance decreases and current divides itself according to the individual resistance hence 100 watt bulb will glow brighter .
