Does a conductor become charged when current is passed through it?

Dear nikhil,

Yes the conductor becomes charged when current is passed thru it.When there is an electric field that is large enough  then it will produce electron/positron pairs in the conductor. Those electrons and positrons are what flow to conduct electric current.
