it depends on cfse and strength of ligand so due to above factors shape of ptcl4 is square planar not tetrahedral

Remember all platinum and palladium complexes whose coordination no 4 are dsp2 hybridisation​ and square planar ,and coordination no 6 are d2sp3 octahedral shape

Because Ni has smaller size and less no. of electronic levels (positive charge is spread over a smaller region) therfore it can easily adapt to four halide legands to foma a tetrahedral shape (smaller bond angle). But in case of Platinum Bigger size and morre no. of electronic levels (positive charge is spread over a larger region and further locked by the completely filled f orbitals) make it difficult to adapt to halide legands in tetrahedral shape. Therefor Platinum forms a square planar (greater bond angle) complex.
