In Sterioisomerism there is MA 2 XY type, in that A is neutral ligand and X,Yare anionic ligand. Eg for this is [PtNH 3 Cl(Py) 2 ]. ---------- In this eg according to the rule there is one neutral ligand and two anionic ligand, but NH 3 , (Py) 2 are neutral ligand and only one anionic ligand that is Cl. Then can u pls explain how this eg being apt for this kind of sterio isomerism. Can u give another eg for this????? pls give the ans immediately.......

Dear Student,
This type of complex in which there are three types of ligands. CN is 4. Two of the ligands are same. Other two are different. Cis-trans isomerism is possible. Hence this is an apt example. Please do not get confuse if one of the ligand is negatively charged or neutral, if won’t affect the isomerism.
