Shubham Ajmera, 23, is from Jaipur. He is pursuing list last semester of Computer Science Engineering at IIT Mandi, Himachal Pradesh and is also doing his internship in a prominent company at Bengaluru.
The Rs 1.7 crore per annum offer he got from the software giant Google is the second highest offer received by an IITian this year. He would work as the ‘Software Engineering in Test’ at the Google headquarters in Mountain View, California, USA. The offer came to him with his hard work, dedication and of course, a good dose of luck.
His father K C Ajmera shared that Shubham would be joining Google in May next year. Shubham cleared IIT JEE in 2011 and his rank was AIR #4289. He was disappointed by his performance as he could not get admission in the older IITs but decided to join IIT Mandi instead of wasting a year.
Shubham’s mother Sunita shared that her son was always keen to take admission in Computer Science. He fell in love with the subject at school and even when he was on vacations, Shubham used to read books on CS and IT that were not part of his curriculum.
Clearly, his extra efforts to hone his skills and his interest in the subject helped get the Google offer. He also got good offers from two other companies but chose to join Google.
