Its depend upon your performance in iit jee.
if you have performed well in jee,then you will get a seat in iit jee.prepetry cource is alloted to those student whose performance is not good in jee exam.so 1 year cource is alloted to those student,and after completing that cource u can will get admission in iit jee .
