Hi!! I am Swathi from Chennai. I am a long term student. I had not taken coaching during 11th and 12th as I was concentrating only on the Boards(CBSE) in which I got 92.4%(aggregate). Now that I am taking coaching for IIT JEE I have finished three fourth of the syllabus (going by the speed of the way we are being taught at the coaching center and i am sure that I have done that quite well..) and I would be finishing the remaining portions by the end of January. I just want to know if I am being very slow in finishing the portions as every body around says and that i should have finished every thing by the end of December itself. Can I hope to do well in other exams like AIEEE and BITSAT if not IIT-JEE at this pace? By the way i am doing HC Verma for physics, Arihant for Maths and OP Agarwal for Chemistry and Bahadur for PC .....these are the books i have been following right from the beginning. I would be very grateful to you if you could give your valuable suggestions on the study strategy for the remaining time. Thank You !!

Dear Swathi

Your speed of prepration is good .if you are able to finish by the end of jun.then it will be fair enough.Main thing is to complete the chapter with better understanding. No use of suach a strategy to finish the chapter in less time and not able to solve the question from that topic.

for rest of time you  should start revising the previous chapter which is already tought in coaching.

while revising you must complete all the concept of that chapter, previous IIT JEE question based upon that topic, questions from your study material, and Solved and unsolved question of the  text book you are following.

I will suggest you to join any test series.wher you can compair with others.and also you will know the possible changing pattern of IIT JEE as well as you will learn how to use your 3 hours in attempting the different portion of the paper.
once you start scoring good score your confidence level will increse.

you can join online test series it will save your time

Just stay calm and focus on understanding rather than mugging. Be regular in class and stay with concepts.

Please feel free to post as many doubts on our discussion forum as you can. If you find any question Difficult to understand - post it here
