Triangle

We have in the triangle, AB=10 AC=7 and AD=6

we know AD is perpendicular to BC

consider triangle ABD

applying pythagorus theorem,

AB2=AD2+BD2

BD2=AB2-AD2

     = (10)2-(6)2

     =100-36

     =64

BD =8(as it cannot be a negative number)

now consider triangle ACD

applying pythagorus theorem,

CD2=AC2-AD2

     =(7)2-(6)2

     =49-36

     =13

 CD=√13

therefore BC=BD+CD

                 =8+√13
