Find value of 'p' for which the equation (x^2-2x)^2-(p+3)(x^2-2x)+(p-2)=0 has


i) 4 real solutions
ii) 3 real solutions only
iii) 2 real solutions only
iv)   1 real solution only
v)     No real solution.

Dear student,

All you have to do is find P(2) = -5 and P(3) =1

because one value is negative and the other is positive

it must cross the Ox axis

so there is a zero between 2 and 3.
