Hello everyone I am a mechanical engineering student. I want to land a R&D job in the industry. Will I get one directly if i do my M.Tech at IIT or should i try for campus placement & work my way towards the R&D dept of the company?

Hello everyone I am a mechanical engineering student. I want to land a R&D job in the industry. Will I get one directly if i do my M.Tech at IIT or should i try for campus placement & work my way towards the R&D dept of the company?

Dear Ashutosh ,

You must sit for campus placement first and try to get a job in some tech. firm, initially u have to work as a engineering trainee for 1 or 2 years then u can choose dept. but that will depend on how u performed during ur trainee period. You can do M. tech even after 1-2 years if u feel , that u need post graduation to enter R&D dept. and some companies even finance their employees for mtech so better take a job first.
