why the sky is only blue in colour?

Y The space is black?

Is the sunlight yellow or white.Why?

Dear Adit,

The sky is not blue,it appears blue.Our atmosphere consist of moisture,dust,and many tiny particles.The light rays coming from sun get split beacuse of these material(like a prism splitting the white light in 7 colours).And most of the rays are in that wavelength of visibile which has blue colour.Hence the Sky appears blue

The sunlight is white,every light is white.It just depends from which medium we are seeing it.
