NISER is not a mass-employment producing institute like the IITs. If you are looking for placements, high salary jobs or easy life , go for the IITs. However, if you are truly passionate about science and want to learn irrespective of your situation, then NISER will provide you one of the best infrastructures in the country. However, this does not mean that you wont have a high paying job or a an enjoyable life (which solely depends on you). Also you can do adequate research at the IITs if you dont want to join NISER.
