you must fill you first preference first. in the proper gradind from first preference to last.
this time IIT will conduct two councelling.
so you must select the option to appear in the second councelling also.you may get better branch in select councelling.
mechanical from iit kharagpur is good,but if you are intrested in computer science then you can easly take it ,there is not difference.
