Total seats through EML is only 2000 and the total seats throuh IITs is only 6875 and the total ranks displayed by IIT is 8500. So those students who doesnt get any seats at IIT are also eligible for IIST and IISER. Considering the last year cutoff details, the cutoff of IIST was 7770. As the no. of seats have been increased at the IITs you could hope for something good this time or you may get IISER.
