As your score is of 185 marks(OBC) in IIT JEE 2010, so with these marks your estimated ank would be some where in between 1100 to 1200. According to the calculation metallurgy or mechanical would be better option for you in old IIT's rather than opting for ciomputer science or electrical in new IIT's .
Now if you talk about NIT's then if you succeed to get a good rank in NIT'S Then you must opt for that but as compared to IIT's, NIT's would be always second option for yours.
However score may vary and as a result rank may also vary, a slight difference may create lots of difference in rank.
