Yes it is possible to clear IIT JEE without joining any coaching institute. But it would not be possible to clear IIT JEE without any guidance. A right guidance is required to crack the JEE for sure. Studying is just up to oneself. So you can study without a teacher, but a guide to is required to tell you how to study.
