If you are not selected for IIT JEE. then prepare for other exams like AIEEE, BITSAT etc. there are very good colleges through these exams also. you should take a pure engineering branch, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil are pure engineering branches. After B Tech you are eligible for various exams of UPSC.
