The Indian Institute of Sciences (IISC) Bangalore conducts the entrance exam every year for inviting candidates for admissions to its different course programmes as made available in the Institute for this purpose. The entrance exam is conducted all over India in some of the major cities for all the eligible candidates. The exam is usually organized in the months of April/ May respectively for all the candidates.

IISC Exam Pattern 2014:

The IISC conducts an objective type Aptitude Test and Interview for inviting admissions of candidates in different courses available under its curriculum. The main courses offered by it include the following:

1. BS (Bachelor of Science) in following: Biology/ Physics/ Material Sciences/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Environmental Sciences

2. MS (Master of Science) in following: Biological Sciences/ Chemistry/ Ecological Sciences/ Material Sciences

3. M.Sc (Engineering)

4. ME (Master of Engineering)/ M.Tech (Master of Technology)

5. M.Des/ M.Mgt. (Master of Management)

6. Ph.D. /PhD Integrated etc

Eligibility for IISC:

The candidates should be Intermediate/ Class 12thpassed from the subjects as per the course for which they are applying. These include the following: Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Physics/ Biology (for Biological Sciences) or II PUC Level for getting admissions in all the under graduate course programmes. Those candidates who have also studied the subjects of Computer, Electronics, Statistics, and Science can also apply in the IISC Entrance Exams provided they have appeared in either of the following exams:

1. JEE (Joint Engineering Entrance) Main Exam 2014

2. JEE (Joint Engineering Entrance) Advance 2014

3. NEET 2014

4. KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanic Pratiyogita Yojna) Fellows/ SA/ SB/ SX respectively

Weightage of Marks in the concerned exams:

JEE Mains 2014: General -60%; SC/ ST/ PH- 54%; OBC- NCL

JEE Advance 2014: General- 60%; SC/ST/PH- 54%; OBC-NCL

NEET 2014: Only those candidates can apply who are included in the All India Merit List of the concerned exam

Time of Exam: 09:00 am- 12:00 noon

Exam Test Centres:

Ahemadabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Varanasi respectively



About BS Programme:

The Bachelor of Science course programme is a four year course mainly designed for those students who completed their schooling from Science Group. The candidates can apply online from the institute website till 30thApril 2014 for the course provided they complete all the eligibility conditions as required for this purpose.
