Rate of change x .i.e
Differentiate it and it should be greater than x^4/4.

x^3  + 3x^2 – 1 > x^4/4
or 
x^4/4 – x^3 – 3x^2 + 1
(x – 1) (ax^3 + bx^2 + cx + d)

To determine other factors use
sum of roots, products of roots concept using 4th root as 1.
and draw the wavy curve and determine the range.
