Dear student,

To find the angle between two lines of equation ax2+2hxy+by2=0 for the below given geometry constructions.

Dividing throughout by x2, we get

m_1+m_2

This being a quadratic in m has two roots m1 and m2.

m_1+m_2

m_1.m_2

If m1 and m2 are the slopes of the lines, then q, the angle between the lines is given by
