if  x+y=k touches the parabola y=x-x² then k=?

Dear Nikhil,

y=k-x=x-x2, x2-2x+k=0,x=1±√(1-k), y=x-x2, dy/dx=1-2x= -1±√(1-k)=-1 because slope of x+y=k=-1, therefore,k=1

y=x-x2 ...............2

from 1 and 2

x2 -2x+k=0 .............3

if line touches the parabola then there will be only one point of contact of line with parabola..

for this condition ,in eq 3 there should be only one value of x

so discriminant =0

   b2 =4ac

Put z = x+iy => |x + iy + 1/(x + iy)| => |[(x+iy)^2 + 1]/(x+iy)| =>|x^2 – y^2 + 2xyi + 1|/|x+iy| => root[(x^2 – y^2 +1)^2 + 1]/root(x^2 + y^2) Now solve it and compare it.

1)show that sin 20.sin40.sin60.sin80 = 3/16 here all angles are in degress 2)prove that tanA+secA-1/tanA-secA+1 = 1+sinA/cosA
Put the value of sin60 in the L.H.S and then, apply formulae: 2sinAcosB in sequence one by onne. Take sin20 common and apply for 2sin40sin80 and so on.
