Let’s name the works  A, B, C, D
       A-------> 1st work of 3 volumes
       B-------> 2nd work of 3 volumes
       C-------->1st work of 2 volumes
       D-------->2nd work of 2 volumes

        in A, we can arrange 3 volumes in 3! ways similarly B
        in C and D we can arrange them in 2! ways

A,B,C,D can be arranged in 4! ways
=====> total = 4!(3! + 3! + 2! + 2! ) = 24 (16) = 384 ways

In the last step you should multiply to give all the possible ways of the same works are never separated.
4!×3!×3!×2!×2!= 3456
