Total perimeter = y + (y – 1) + (y – 2) = 3y – 3, where y is a natural number greater than 1. 
 
Any 3 consecutive natural numbers can form the sides of a triangle as long as the smallest number is greater than 1.

The sides are 3,4,5.
     It forms a right angled triangle.
Largest side is y=5.
Smallest side is 3.
Perimeter = 12
