consider a distance of 3m b/w a lizard and an insect.. to capture insect lizard starts moving towards it.If lizard covers 1m in first step 0.5m in next 0.25 in next and so on in how many steps will lizard catch insect.

It cannot reach the insect. Its a geometric progression with common ratio = 0.5 , and the sum of infinite sries too gives a summ of 2, therefore even after infinite steps it wud be able to come to 2 m.

Solve using the formula fr geometric progression for n= infinity

z’ = 1+5z and so z’+1 = 5z which means |z’+1| = 5|z| = 10 which means z’ lies on a circle centred at (-1,0) and radius 10. Alternatively you can see that 5z takes all points on the circle...

If A1,A2,A3, in AP such that, A1+A5+A10+A15+A20+A24=225, then, A1+A2+A3+...A23+A24 is equal to?
A1,A2,A3, in AP the write in common terms of a and d. .i.e. A1 = a A2 =a+d A3 =a+2d . . A24 = a+23d summing all we get, 4(6a+69d) = > 4*225 = 900 perhaps.

u can also solve in such way, (A1+A24) +(A5+A20) +(A10+A15)=225. THEREFORE 3(A1+A24)=225 (A1+A24)=75. NOW SUM=24/12(A1+A24) =900
