solve for x: (log 10 x) 2 - (log 10 x) - 6 =0 i have solved the answer as follows: let log 10 x = y therefore, y 2 - y - 6 = 0 y 2 - 3y + 2y - 6 = 0 y(y - 3) + 2(y - 3) = 0 y + 2 = 0 or y - 3 =0 y = -2 or y = 3 thus, log 10 x = -2 or log 10 x = 3 10 -2 = x or 10 3 = x x = 0.01 or x = 1000 is my solution right, or are there more values of x??? plzzz tell....

solve for x:

(log10x)2 - (log10x) - 6 =0

i have solved the answer as follows:

let log10x = y

therefore, y2 - y - 6 = 0

               y2 - 3y + 2y - 6 = 0

               y(y - 3) + 2(y - 3) = 0

              y + 2 = 0   or   y - 3 =0

              y = -2      or   y = 3

thus, log10x = -2    or   log10x = 3

        10-2 = x        or      103 = x

        x = 0.01        or       x = 1000

is my solution right, or are there more values of x???  plzzz  tell....
