  The coefficient of x50 in (1 + x)41 (1 - x + x2)40 is

Answers : (1)

Dear Vishwesh

(1 + x)41 (1 - x + x2)40

=(1+x)(1 + x)40 (1 - x + x2)40

=(1+x3)40     +x(1+x3)40

both the term does not contain x50 term because 50 is not multiple of 3

Write the equation as (3x+1)(3x-2)(x-1)(x-2) = 21 Club the 2 nd and 3 rd factors, and 1 st and 4 th factor to get (3x 2 -5x+2)(3x 2 -5x+2) = 21 or (3 x 2 -5x) 2 – 4 = 21 from which 3x 2 -5x ...

Make ax+by+c=0 similar to 2a + b + 2c = 0 therfore multiply ax+by+c=0 by 2 .i.e. 2ax + 2by + 2c = 0 Now compare it with the coeff. of 2a+b+2c=0 we get, x = 1 y = ½ thus at this point it is...
