Appearing for BITSAT 2015? This Checklist is Handy

BITSAT 2015 Counselling Procedure:

BITSAT 2015Candidates need to apply for admission with Class XII marks and preferences for degree programs from May 20, 2015 to June 30, 2015. The Counselling for BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test) 2015 will be tentatively held from the 4th week June 2015. Post announcement of results, candidates who have qualified will be eligible for the BITSAT 2015 Counselling based on the marks they have secured at BITSAT 2015. The Counselling Procedure will be implemented simultaneously for the three BITS campuses at Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad.

Counselling for BITSAT 2015 will comprise of the following steps:

Application for BITSAT 2015 Counselling

  • All qualified candidates need to apply for admissions to the degree courses of engineering post announcement of the results of BITSAT 2015.

  • The application for Counselling for BITSAT 2015 will be conducted online and should be submitted with Class 12 mark sheet along with course options or choices preferred by the candidate.

Online Application Form Filling for BITS Admission 2015:

  • Candidates need to submit their applications prior to the last day.

  • Note: Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12 exam in the year 2015 or 2014 and have appeared for BITSAT 2015 with Maths are eligible to apply for a place in the Merit List for securing admission.

Part 2: Class 12 exam details (subject-wise marks)

Note: Candidates who are yet to receive their Class 12 Results can fill in some details and submit the form. However, they would need to log in once the results have been declared and enter the remaining details. The detailed procedure is mentioned below:

Part 3: Filling up Order of Preference for Diverse Degree Programs that are offered by BITS.

Important: Candidates are advised caution during the application process to properly check the submitted details prior to confirmation because the entered information cannot be modified later on.

Students who are yet to receive their Class 12 Mark Sheet:

  • Candidates need to login post declaration of results and enter the details.

  • They should then obtain a printout of the form and send it to the Institute.

  • They need to mention on top of the application form that the original form has already been submitted, whereas the Class 12 marks are being submitted now.

  • Candidates do not have to send additional fees in such a scenario.

Note: Candidates must note down the Application Number for all future correspondence.

Documents to be enclosed with Application for BITSAT 2015 Counselling:

Note: Candidates need to send attested copies only and not originals.

  • Matriculation/Class 10/Secondary School Certificate

  • Class 12 or equivalent exam mark sheet

Note: The BITSAT score for all candidates will be taken from the records of the Institute.

Admission Fee for BITSAT 2015:

  • On allotment of seat, a candidate needs to pay Rs 98,700/- (which is inclusive of Admission fee of Rs 20,200/- and fees for one semester)

  • Candidates who are placed on the BITSAT waitlist need to pay only the BITSAT Admission Fee of Rs 20,200.

Direct Admission for 2015 Board Toppers:

  • Candidates who have secured the 1st rank in all state and central boards are eligible for direct admission, regardless of their score at BITSAT 2015.

  • However, they need to obtain a minimum of 75 percent aggregate marks in PCM or PCB subjects with a minimum of 60% in each of the subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry, Biology) in their Class 12 exam

  • The topper who will be eligible should be from the Science stream, having opted for PCM or PCB in Class 12.

Note: In the year 2014, nearly 1.8 lakh candidates appeared for BITSAT to compete for the 2,000 seats available fro BE (Hons.) programs offered by BITS.
