CEED - The Common Entrance Examination for Design

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay conducts an all India examination on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Department of Education, Government of India known as the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED). The entrance exam is conducted to screen candidates for postgraduate and doctoral designing courses conducted by some of the post prestigious engineering institutes such as IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore.

Usually conducted in January every year, CEED tests the drawing skills, creativity and communication skills, visual perception ability, logical reasoning, and design aptitude of the candidates. However, qualifying CEED alone does not guarantee admission to the engineering design programs candidates aspire for. They also have to fulfill other requirements of respective institutions and clear their individual tests and interviews.
