Annamalai University Entrance Exam for Engineering Programs

The Annamalai University is a residential university with a single campus at Annamalai Nagar in Tamil Nadu.  All its nine Faculties, 49 Departments, colleges and hostels are situated on a campus that sprawls across 1000 acres. It employs more than 2500 teaching staff at present. Few universities in India can boast of such luxury. The university also offers excellent facilities for research projects and post-doctoral work that has earned it research and training collaborations from industrial sector and several important sponsored projects, including those from state and central government.

Currently, the college follows 4-year duration course (1 year + 6 semesters) with external mode of examination for B.E/B. Tech/ B. Arch/ B. Pharma programs and a 4 semester course for the M.E/M. Tech programs.

The students are admitted into the Under Graduate programs based on their score in the EAMCET - a Common Entrance Test conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. For admission into the Post Graduate programs, the selection is based on the candidates’ GATE scores and the corresponding all India ranking or their ranking in AUCET conducted by the Andhra University.

Majority of the AU Engineering College faculty is highly qualified, their qualification goes way beyond the mandatory minimum prescribed by the AICTE/UGC. The teachers of the college attend refresher courses, orientation courses, workshops, seminars and conferences from time to time to keep themselves abreast of the latest developments in engineering & technology. The various departments of the Engineering College receive active participation from students all over the country. Personnel from various industrial organizations regularly interact with the faculty members to foster mutual growth.

Research and Consultancy:

Faculty of the Engineering College is continually involved in active research. They execute a number of projects and research schemes granted by National level funding agencies like UGC, AICTE, CSIR, DST, DOD, DAE, NSTL and DOT etc. The expertise and competence of the faculty has motivated the College of Engineering to set up a number of Centers of Excellence being granted/approved by UGC & AICTE
