IIT Kanpur Students Make a Nano Satellite

NANO SATELLITE BY STUDENTS OF IIT-KANPUR
The students of IIT-Kanpur have made a nano-satellite in December - 2009 worth Rs. 2 crore as informed by the Director of the institute Prof. S.G Dhande. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will be launching the nano-satellite named “Jugnu” made by the students.
This satellite was made by a team of 20 students.
This satellite weighs less than 10 Kilograms and will give information related to agriculture, drought, flood and forestry.
In addition to this, the institute will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee from August 2009 to December 2010. The inauguration of the function is from August 8th-August 9th 2009.
The Chief Guest of the function will be the non-executive Chairman and the Chief Mentor of Infosys, Mr. N.R Narayan Murthy. He is a member of the alumni of IIT-Kanpur.
