Duration of the Exam
The VITEEE examination is conducted from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm, for about two and a half hours.
Test Structure and Scoring of the VITEEE Exam
VITEEE has objective multiple-choice questions. You will have to solve about 120 questions in about 150 minutes. You may ask for a sample question paper by sending a demand draft of Rs.100/- in favor of VIT University, payable at Vellore along with a self addressed A4 size envelope with Rs.25/- stamp affixed, and a covering letter to the Admissions Officer, VIT University, Vellore - 632 014.
Each question is of 1 mark. There is no negative marking at VITEEE. At VITEEE 2009, the cut-off is expected to be above 90. The merit list is prepared solely on the basis of the marks scored by the candidates in VITEEE.
VITEEE Exam Fees
The application form for VITEEE is for Rs 750/-. At the time of counseling, students have to pay Rs. 30,000/- in the form of demand draft drawn in the favor of VIT University, payable at Vellore.
Scholarships Available at VIT University
VIT University offers scholarships and fee waivers to meritorious students. For the purpose of scholarships, two merit lists are prepared – one for candidates of Tamil Nadu and another one for candidates of other states. Candidates who achieve top 50 positions on the respective VITEEE merit list are granted a scholarship of Rs.25,000/- each.
Similarly, if the candidates who achieve first rank in their respective state board examinations get selected for the B.Tech. Degree Programme, they are offered a complete tuition fee waiver for the first year and a waiver of Rs.25,000/- per year from the second year onwards.
