Who all should appear for the UPTU SEE Exams?
Domicile Requirements
UPTU State Level Entrance Examination is open only to the candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from any institution in U.P. or whose one of the parents are domicile of UP. However, 10% seats in private institutions are filled on the All India merit level in AIEEE and up to 15% of the sanctioned intake in private institutions can be filled by NRI candidates under Management quota.
Age Criteria
Except for Marine Engineering, there is no age limit to take UPTU SEE. Marine Engineering aspirants, however, should not be more than 25 years of age by 1st of July of the current year. Engineering diploma holders seeking direct admission to the second year in Marine Engineering program should not be more than 27 years old.

To be eligible for UPTU SEE, students should clear 10+2 with the subjects required for the courses they are applying for.

Engineering diploma holders and B.Sc. graduates can seek direct entry to the second year of B.Tech. programs while pharmacy diploma holders may seek lateral entry to the second year of the B.Pharm. program, if they secure 60% marks or more at diploma level. However, such admissions are limited to the 10% of the sanctioned intake of the particular program at the first year level.
Candidates for Architecture should have at least 50% aggregate marks to be eligible for the course. SC/ST candidates should have at least 45% marks in their qualifying examination to join Architecture.
Marine Engineering candidates should have at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together and at least 50% marks in English at 10+2 level. They also need a Medical Fitness Certificate from a Doctor approved by the Director General of Shipping at the time of counseling. Candidates seeking direct entry to the second year must secure 60% overall marks at diploma level with at least 55% in the final examinations.
Reservation of Seats
There is 21% reservation for SC candidates from UP, 2% for ST candidates from UP and 27% for OBC candidates from UP.
20% seats are reserved for women from UP.
Sons and daughters of defence personnel and dependents of freedom fighters can also apply for seats reserved for them.
Fee waiver seats up to 10% of the sanctioned intake are available in B.Tech., B.Pharm., B.Arch., and B.HMCT courses in the state, state-funded or private institutions who volunteer to participate in the scheme. For every 60 seats available, two fee waiver seats are given to women, three to economically weaker candidates and one to physically handicapped students who are meritorious.
