All seats at B.Tech programs through distance mode at Thapar University are filled only on the basis of the entrance exam. Candidates should fulfill one of the following criteria to be eligible for the Thapar University Distance Education Entrance Exam:

    * Candidates should have 3-year Diploma in relevant discipline of Engineering or its equivalent with minimum two years of professional experience in any industry. Computer Science & Engineering applicants should have BCA or B.Sc. in Computer Science or Information Technology or its equivalent along with the specified experience.

    * At least 3-year Diploma after 10th or 12th or 2-year Diploma after 10+2 in any discipline of Engineering or its equivalent with at least three years of relevant experience in the concerned industry or organization.
