The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) is conducted by the Director of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai, which is designated as the Competent Authority for the written examinations by the Government of Maharashtra. It is a single exam conducted for selection to all the degree courses in Engineering, Health Science, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry. This year, MHT CET will be conducted on 12th May 2009.

There are two Competitive Authorities who will preside Counseling and Allotment of Seats however – DMER for Health Sciences, and Director of Technical Education, Mumbai for Engineering and Pharmacy.
