EAMCET: One entrance exam for engineering, medical and agriculture courses in Andhra Pradesh!
EAMCET is the acronym of Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) on behalf of The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (ASPCHE).
A gateway to agriculture, medical and engineering courses by universities as well as government and private colleges of Andhra Pradesh,EAMCET exam was taken by about 3.95 lakh students last year. Out of these 1.05 lakh students were medical aspirants while 2.89 lakh students were engineering aspirants.

From 2009, EAMCET AP ranking gives 25% weightage to marks scored in the Intermediate Public Examination (IPE) or board exams at 10+2 level. Hence, students need to pay attention to their board exams too.
EAMCET Eligibility
- Candidates should belong to Andhra Pradesh.
- For Engineering, Bio- Technology, B.Tech (Dairy Technology), B.Tech (Ag. Engineering) and for 50% seats in B. Pharmacy, B.Tech (Food Science and Technology (FST) /B.Sc (Commercial Agri & Business Mgt. (CA & BM)) courses, candidates should have cleared or have appeared for 10+2 exams with Maths, Physics and Chemistry with at least 45% marks (40% for SC, ST and reserved category students). Biology stream students can take a bridge course in Mathematics and appear for Biotechnology courses.
- For Engineering and Pharmacy courses, students should be at least 16 years old by 31st December of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit.
- For B.Tech (Dairy Technology), B.Tech. (Ag. Engineering), B.Tech. (FST) and B.Sc. (CA & BM), students should at least 17 years old by 31st December of the year of admission. Upper age limit is 22 years (25 years for SC and ST candidates).
EAMCET 2014
Students who are studying in Class XII have only a few months left for EAMCET preparation. Dates for EAMCET 2014 have not been
announced yet. However, keeping the schedule of last year in mind, online application forms for EAMCET should be available on its website around mid-February, 2014 and last date of submission of application forms should be around third week of March, 2014.
